Dean’s Word\r\nIn the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful. \r\nPraise be to Allah who honored us with the grace of Islam, and prayers and peace be upon the best of creatures, our first teacher and master, our beloved and our model, our Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him. \r\nFirst of all, I welcome all the visitors of the website of the Faculty of Engineering and I take the chance to present a simple overview of the faculty. \r\nThe Faculty of Engineering was established in the academic year 2000. The study in the faculty has commenced with Civil Engineering Department, Electrical Engineering Department, and Mechanical Engineering Department. Later, other departments were established, namely Materials Science and Engineering Department, Architecture and Urban Planning Department, Petroleum Department, and Industrial Engineering and Manufacture Department. The faculty seeks to establish Water and Environmental Engineering Department and Chemical Engineering Department in the future. \r\nThe faculty has sought from the beginning to achieve an advanced engineering education and to qualify and prepare distinguished engineers who can bear the responsibility of building and executing comprehensive development and infrastructure projects for the Libyan society. These goals are achieved by implementing integrated and comprehensive educational programs that are characterized by quality and flexibility and which depend on modern technology and keep pace with scientific development and information revolution. \r\nIn light of Misurata University vision, the Faculty of Engineering aspires to provide a scientific and academic research system that achieves excellence and precision, and ensures the contribution of individuals in society construction. \r\nThe faculty has about 980 students enrolled in the various engineering disciplines. Its teaching staff consists of around 110 Libyan Master’s and PhD degrees holders, graduated from the world’s top finest universities (United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, France, Italy, Hungary, Serbia, Malaysia, Egypt, Russia, Brazil), assisted by 60 of assistance staff. Meanwhile, the faculty staff has 80 employees. The number of graduates has reached about 1444 since the foundation of the faculty in various fields of engineering, who are currently working in many private and public sector companies and are distinguished by their excellent performance and development and innovation ability, according to their employers. \r\nCurrently, the faculty aims to obtain the institutional and programmatic accreditation and achieve quality requirements in accordance with the institutional and programmatic accreditation standards of the National Center of Quality Insurance and Educational and Training Institutions Accreditation. \r\nFurthermore, the faculty strives to serve community and engineering profession persistently through offering consultations to the private and public sector and providing specialized courses and workshops, in addition to organizing conferences and seminars and participating in local and foreign scientific meetings. \r\nDear visitor, I wish you find in this site what answers your questions and inquiries.
